What Is Mercedes-Benz ATTENTION ASSIST®?

Mercedes-Benz Attention Assist

The ATTENTION ASSIST® Mercedes-Benz technology is designed to keep drivers safer on the roads of Niagara-on-the-Lake. It does this by monitoring their behaviour for signs of drowsiness or inattention and alerting the driver that it may be time to give to get off the road and take a minute to recuperate. Learn more about how the ATTENTION ASSIST® “take a break” Mercedes-Benz feature works below and everything involved, then contact us to schedule a test drive, and experience Mercedes-Benz ATTENTION ASSIST® technology in person at Performance Mercedes-Benz near Niagara.

The Mercedes-Benz ATTENTION ASSIST® Functions

The ATTENTION ASSIST® system is a one of a kind technology. It has an innovative sensor and precise algorithm to inform drivers if they are getting too drowsy to be on the roads. Here’s how it works:

  1. In the first few minutes of a drive, the system uses over 70 parameters to assess your individual driving style.
  2. As you continue on your journey, the system detects specific steering corrections which are indicative of the beginning signs of driver fatigue.
  3. ATTENTION ASSIST® then considers and accounts for several external factors, including road conditions and crosswinds, as well as how you are interacting with controls, buttons, and switches in the vehicle.
  4. If the system assesses all these factors and concludes that you are experiencing drowsiness or driver fatigue, it will sound an alert and suggest stopping for a break.
